About
Psychological Testing & Evaluation Services
In addition to therapy services, our licensed psychologists also offer a range of assessments to help you understand your mental health and well-being, and to develop personalized recommendations that meet your needs. For testing and evaluation services, we work with children (ages 6 and up), adolescents, and adults.
Psychological and neuropsychological evaluations can help us identify specific symptoms or diagnoses that might be impacting one's functioning. They give a more complete understanding of someone's strength and weaknesses, which assists us in making recommendations about treatment, intervention, and support or accommodations.
We use a variety of tools and techniques to evaluate symptoms, including clinical interviews, behavioral rating scales, objective personality measures, and standardized intelligence and academic achievement tests.

The assessment process is scheduled over multiple days. It typically begins with an initial intake appointment where we gather information about your symptoms and concerns. That is following by testing session(s), during which we administer a series of tests and assessment measures. Depending on your specific needs, this may be one session or multiple sessions. Once we have a chance to interpret the results, we will have a feedback session and provide clients with our findings, recommendations, and a written report or summary.

Comprehensive Psychoeducational Assessment: $2,625
The comprehensive psychoeducational assessment is appropriate for those seeking academic or testing accommodations, as well as questions about attention or ADHD ("ADD"), learning disorders, and intellectual functioning. The testing involves approximately 6 to 7 hours of evaluation. We provide a comprehensive psychological report which includes testing results, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations. These reports are often used for requesting academic or testing accommodations - for example, on the ACT, LSAT, GRE, etc.

Psychodiagnostic Assessment: $1,875
The psychodiagnostic assessment is appropriate for those seeking diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations for psychiatric diagnoses (e.g., anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, personality disorders, etc). This assessment does not include evaluation for neurodevelopmental concerns such as learning disorders, ADHD, or autism, as each require additional testing. Testing for the psychodiagnostic assessment involves approximately 4 to 5 hours of evaluation. We provide an abbreviated summary report which includes diagnostic impressions and recommendations.

Psychodiagnostic Assessment (including ADHD)*: $2,125
The psychodiagnostic assessment with ADHD is appropriate for adults seeking diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations for psychiatric diagnoses (e.g., anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, personality disorders, etc), including the evaluation of ADHD or attentional problems. Testing for the psychodiagnostic assessment with ADHD involves approximately 5 to 6 hours of evaluation. We provide an abbreviated summary report which includes diagnostic impressions and recommendations. *Adults only. If ADHD is suspected in children, adolescents, or college students , we conduct the full comprehensive psychoeducational assessment listed above to rule out any learning concerns or academic issues.
Why Comprehensive Evaluations are Worth the Investment
Why Are Psychological Testing and Evaluation Costs So High?
At Anxiety & OCD Treatment Services, we understand that comprehensive psychological evaluations can be a significant investment. Many clients wonder why our testing fees are higher than a standard doctor's visit or brief assessment. The answer lies in the depth, time, and expertise required to provide an accurate, thorough evaluation that meets the highest professional standards.

Why Previous Diagnoses May Not Be Enough for Accommodations
Many clients come to us frustrated that a diagnosis from a previous provider does not qualify them for academic or testing accommodations, or for medication management. Simply having a diagnosis of ADHD, dyslexia, or another condition does not automatically guarantee accommodations.

In many cases, diagnoses were based on a brief screening or rating scale. While these tools can be helpful, they should never be used as stand-alone diagnostic instruments because they do not rule out other potential causes of symptoms. It’s like diagnosing diabetes just by asking if someone feels thirsty a lot - while increased thirst can be a symptom of diabetes, it can also result from dehydration or other factors. A doctor wouldn’t confirm diabetes without objective measures like blood glucose testing. Similarly, a mental health provider should not diagnose a condition based solely on a screening tool without a comprehensive evaluation.
Schools and testing organizations, such as the ACT, LSAT, or GRE, require evaluations that:
✔ Are conducted by a qualified professional (e.g., licensed psychologist)
✔ Rule out other potential explanations for difficulties
✔ Use standardized, valid, and age-appropriate assessments (intellectual functioning, academic achievement, neuropsychological assessment, and rating scales) across multiple sources
✔ Clearly document functional limitations caused by the diagnosis

The Time and Expertise Behind Comprehensive Testing
Unlike a quick screening or brief consultation, a full psychological evaluation involves:

✔ Extensive Clinical Interviewing: Gathering detailed background information, history, and current concerns.
✔ Standardized Testing: Administering reliable and valid assessments to measure intellectual functioning, academic achievement, neuropsychological functioning, and emotional/behavioral concerns.
✔ Ruling Out Alternative Diagnoses: Ensuring that symptoms are not better explained by another condition (e.g., ADHD vs. anxiety vs. learning disorder).
✔ Multiple Data Sources: Collecting information from parents, teachers, and other professionals to gain a complete picture of functioning.
✔ Detailed Report & Recommendations: An in-depth written report that includes findings, diagnoses (if applicable), and tailored recommendations for accommodations or interventions.
✔ Feedback & Consultation: A session to explain the results, answer questions, and guide next steps.
